Because on Tuesday, the Delaware 87ers, the Philadelphia 76ers’ developmental squad, extended a tryout invitation to B. All he has to do is show up at the New Castle Police Athletic League facility on September 19, where he’ll compete alongside other hoops hopefuls for a spot on the team. Not surprisingly, Lil B accepted the offer , noting that current Charlotte Hornet Jeremy Lin had paid his dues in the D-League (he was a member of the Reno Bighorns) before breaking out as a member of the New York Knicks and striking it rich with a three-year, $25 million contract from the Houston Rockets. Bay Area rapper, Based God and Bernie Sanders supporter – made plenty of waves during the NBA Playoffs when he cursed LeBron James and J.R. Smith for their hubris, and though he’d subsequently lift the bad juju on LBJ, apparently the rest of the league was paying attention.

  • Lil B has been making headlines lately for his political beliefs .
  • After the rapper announced that the Based God cursed the Houston Rockets’ James Harden , Harden failed to perform at his usual star level, and Lil B became a common topic of discussion on sports TV.
  • Lil B quickly followed up on the 87ers offer and says he accepted.
